Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some questions about Point of Sale. Some written by me (is it a cry for help if I'm writing and answering my own questions?), others asked by fans. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at: poscomic at gmail dot com. Enjoy!

Q.What were your inspirations for this comic?

A. A wide variety of online comics and real-life events. Hate to say it, but some of the creepiest comics in my archives are probably events that really happened.

Q.Where did the name come from?

A. On the registers at work, they say "POS" for Point of Sale. I always laughed at how it reminds me of "Piece of Shit"--especially since the registers were just that. At any rate, when deciding to do a retail comic this sounded like the best name to choose. Plus, when it's abreviated it's just fun to say "POS Comic". Like, you know, "Piece of Shit Comic". I don't know. It makes me laugh. Shut up.

Q.Are any of your characters based off of real people?

A. To a certain extent. Greg, for an obvious example, in essence is me, but with some differences. The other characters have bits and pieces of various people I know either through work or friends. But no-one is directly based on anyone. It's a lot harder to write a character when someone knows it's based off of them, they get pretty pissed if you do something they find "uncharacteristic" of them.
